Seen this advertised on ITV quite a lot, looks great and I love Timothy Spall. Has an all round great cast.

I live close to Enfield and have been interested in this story so I'm looking forward to watching this

Yes that sounds interesting Derek . Spall is a terrific actor . I thought after Auf Weidersein Pet he'd never go any further , but he has totally proved me wrong with a great variety of characterisations .
I have the book of this , but not read it yet . I'll watch the telly version and then tackle the book . :)

Ghostwatch was partly inspired by it.

Looking forward to it, there is a big film coming out next year based on it as well.

I'm very excited to see this adaptation of the Enfield case. Especially Tim Spall's interpretation of Maurice Grosse. Quite an extraordinary story - real or not!

I think there have been documentaries about it but I don't think there has been a dramatisation, although I'm sure others have been "inspired" by it. As somebody else mentioned, Ghostwatch springs to mind.

I've just watched a clip on youtube of Grosse himself explaining what he did - he doesn't half sound like Michael Caine!

I thought the film was called when the lights go out currently being shown on sky movies.
My mistake the movie is The Conjuring 2- Enfield poltergeist

I enjoyed the Behind the Scenes programme about this,.
Love the comment about the clothes they wore from 1977. Juliet saying don't smoke near any of the cast, we'll all go up in flames! lol

    Love Tim Spall.

    Can't wait to see it.

The scary bloke's face made me jump :D

The two young actresses are good, their mild swearing makes me laugh

I feel so far it's skimmed over the canonical account ie the gradual realisation after the chest of drawers moved, the neighbours being involved, inevitable panic, police verification etc. It has just leaped straight to Maurice Grosse' arrival so there's not the momentum I expected.

However that Viewfinder scene was very scary! I thought one picture featured the backview of a man with no head. I leaned closer only to have that next picture!
    Good scare. :o

Why did they skip the whole crucial beginning bit when the neighbour and the policemen came round? And a lot of events have been skipped for stuff that didnt actually happen. It was scary enough as it was!

I'm loving it. Scariest bits so far - the man in the viewfinder and the (I assume same) man walking through the far-ground while Janet was walking in the foreground (when she went downstairs in the middle of the night).
