Tom following JK from Radio 1 to South Coast - wonder if he'll stay or get promoted up to London within a year like JK did.
Tom's voice is very naselly and young, especially after Gilles laddish voice, not too sure how the audience will take him, or if he'll be as comfortable in the Capital Breakfast format after R1 and Fubar. If Gilles reappears somewhere local then Capital may struggle - although from the Rajars they've been struggling since the change from Power to Galaxy I think Gilles was doing a good job - certainly not declined anywhere near as bas as Heart.
If I was Celador I'd get Gilles on fire breakfast and switch Southampton Breeze to the fire format. In the few times I've heard The Breeze in Southampton people always seem to be tuned to the Winchester or Portsmouth frequencies incorrectly so they wouldn't lose out...
