I thought I should mention to anybody interested that the 1980's TV show Freddy's Nightmares starts on The Horror Channel today.

The first episode is actually a prequel to the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. The rest of the episodes are mostly unrelated apart from being set in the same town as the movies and hosted by Freddy himself.

Rare to see on British TV.

I checked out the recent 8pm screenings & checking out the running times of the old VHS releases, the first episode was cut by 2 mins & the 2nd episode by a massive 8 mins!

Needless to say I gave up after that.

Can't Zone Horror show anything uncut?

BTW, SKY Movies in their very early days (1990) screened this series.

Have Horror channel shown the second season of Freddy's Nightmares? Seems like they've been showing the first season on a loop.

Doesn't make a difference how cut they are as every episode other than The one's surrounding Freddy's trial sucked.

I've got some old VHS copies of these too!
One episode has a 'pre Point Break / Tank Girl' Lori Petty in it.
I wonder what she's up to these days? Wikipedia here I come...

Blimey! Wikipedia pic is not flattering...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lori_Petty

I preferred her Gwen Stefaniesque look (or should that be Gwen Stefani adopted a lori Pettyesque look?)
I'll ge my coat before I go any more off topic... :o

for some reason these still creep me out! not so much the stories but when Freddy appears before the breaks and at the end i nearly cack my pants. I think it's because he talks directly to camera.

most of the actual stories are rubbish, the first one was good though and the second one where her head comes off!

The first season was being shown a few weeks ago on Saturday and Sunday nights at 8 pm (and an hour later on Horror channel +1). After the first season finished the show was replaced by Friday the 13th: The Series.
