Programs that have changed broadcasters

I was just wondering about programs that have moved, say from BBC to ITV.

I'm more on about the home grown comedies. I can't think of that many.

BBC to ITV:
Morecambe & Wise
Two Ronnies? (not sure)
Monty Python? (may have just been a couple of the cast that did a series on ITV)

ITV to BBC:
Men Behaving Badly
Holding The Baby? (I know Nick Hancock was there for the first series. Not sure if it changed to the BBC though.)

Anyone thing of any others?

Can't believe I forgot about Parky!
Never knew University Challenge was on ITV. First time I was aware of it was on the BBC's The Young Ones.

No, it was still on ITV for series two (with Hugh Bonneville).

    BBC to ITV:
    The Rag Trade
Till Death Us Do Part (as Till Death)

    ITV to BBC:
    Auf Wiedersehen, Pet

And although it's getting away from your comedy theme, Blockbusters (ITV to BBC and Sky, though I can't remember what order), Through the Keyhole (ITV to BBC and possibly Sky), and I was going to say What the Papers Say too (which has actually gone from ITV to Channel 4 to BBC).

Recently and annoyingly so for many: "LOST"

Went from FREE Channel 4 to Pay Per Simpsons, Sky.

For a show where you have to find out what happens, that was a real blow for those without Sky.

I have Sky but always get it from other means as I prefer it at only 42 mins without adverts.

I think a lot of people don't realise they actually started on ITV in the 60s, before they went to the BBC. Then of course they were back on ITV in the 80s as you rightly say.

This Is Your Life (in its TV incarnation at any rate) I think did the same three moves in the opposite direction, namely BBC/ITV/BBC.

    Just repeats of old episodes.

Kenny Everett: Thames (K.E. Video Show/Cassette) to BBC (K.E. Television Show).

The format changed slightly as well when the show changed channels, the BBC version concentrated more on the sketches, and of course it had a studio audience instead of the crew laughter on the Thames shows.

And it was a good deal ruder on the Beeb as I recall, with the likes of Cupid Stunt (a name which I'll confess it actually took me years to "get"; mind you I was quite young when it was first on). The Thames shows I think were more "zany".

I don't think you can really put that in the same category as you're talking about a later, unrelated adaptation of existing material. By the same token you may as well include things like Just William, The Forsyte Saga, Robin Hood and any number of Jane Austen dramatisations.
