    Ferris Buellers day off

Oh, you've got to be kidding me!
When the (replica) Ferrari went out the window? I almost dropped my popcorn!

Even these have literally the odd 'negative' or depressing scene, but by large they are laugh-fests...

    Idiocracy

Stoner films like The Harold & Kumar films and How High

Stuck on you (saw this very recently)

The Boat That Rocked is a very feel-good and funny film 95% of the time but has some dramatic and sad moments so might not fit the bill. Compare to something like Love Actually.

ETA: Kevin & Perry Go Large? That film is largely funny nonsense as well

Ill second idiocracy! Possibly the best comedy film around.

    Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Actually, yeah. I remember a while back when I split up with my girlfriend, I was utterly heartbroken. I watched both Bill & Ted movies back to back and they really did the trick.

You're best off with a daft comedy, I can watch those types of films any time, there aren't enough of them though.

Hot Shots Part Deux is the BEST of that entire thing.

The second is very enjoyable too, but I prefer the first.

Mr. Bean's Holiday wasn't 100% upbeat with no negativity, but that's the closest to it I can think of at this moment. It's like Mr. Bean in general, goofy stuff with some minor worries, but you know it's Mr. Bean and it's going to turn out alright.

I usually hate Mr Bean. But that film is just brilliant. The scenery.the plot, the actors, the Mini.Everything about is just feelgood.:)

The first one IS better, but the second will always hold a special place in my heart because I went to see it at the cinema with a friend when we were both on acid, and it was an EPIC night.

Some people aren't quite entering into the spirit of the thread, I suspect. :)

I agree with those who have said that you've got to have some negativity or you just end up with no dramatic tension and a bland result. Unless you're making a Wonderful World of Disney-style wildlife documentary.

But given that, I add another vote for Bringing Up Baby.

that film had one of the most depressing endings ever!
where the lads house sets fire and his parents touch the 'evil' smouldering in the microwave and explode and dissapear. :o The poor lad is left wandering on his own, then end credits.
