Samsung idtv problem

For some reason I can not use the freeview part of my LE40r74BD LCD Tv all I get is a blank screen with BBC 1 logo at the top and mono logo at the bottom and the none of the buttons on the remote will access the control menus..?
Everything else works fine except the freeview part, and yes I can get freeview in my area.. because my PVR is working fine..
It will not allow me to tune in freeview channels.???
even if I do a plug & play setup.. it just freezes when it gets to the freeview tuning part..??
Any ideas..??
