Well ... I was actually with Helen yesterday afternoon.
Fact.
Okay ... I was part of an audience in a new BBC comedy/quiz and Ms Flanagan was on one of the teams.
I won't add much to the discussions here apart from saying a couple of things;
* She was quoted by the "press" (well, The Sun ... so it must be true ) as saying she was "hungover" and not thinking straight. Well she seemed okay during yesterday afternoon, when she was prancing around in hot-pants and high heels, and annoying Frank Skinner.
* She was still milking her "celeb jungle" antics by repeating her spray-tan and towel stories.
* She did seem to "zone out" occasionally. In hindsight I'm guessing that she was aware that the proverbial defecation was about to impact upon the rotary air-cooling device...
As these are OLD pictures and not done since the shooting ... I don't see your point
The point is that however old the pictures were, the brainless, attention seeking little bimbo chose now to repost them, when anything around guns is a massively sensitive issue.
Timing aside, when is it EVER acceptable to pose in a provocative pose with a gun?
Yes, because sometimes a duck is just a duck and sometimes stupid, naive young women do stupid, naive things.
I sometimes wonder if i'm the only person in the history of existence to have ever encountered a similar woman. It's almost like in this ultra cynical "Towie" world we live in now, nobody can actually just be a bit stupid. People seem to want to look for an angle all the bloody time.

I agree. She's way too self-absorbed and locked into her own little HelenWorld to ever even have considered an association between this pic and an event in the broader world. I think the Sun picking it up and making the association is 1000 times more disgusting than Helen's woeful inability to think beyond her own immediate needs.
The most offensive part is that her tweets in response are just so "me me me".
She didn't say - "how awful of the Sun to show this picture to Newtown residents, how deeply insensitive to a community that is grieving".
No - it's just about how they are bullying HER.

Obviously she didn't think before tweeting the photo but she could still have said how upset she is that her tweeting the pic was taken the wrong way BUT also apologise for any offence/distress it may have caused anyone else ... but she's too wrapped up in herself to even think of doing that
I don't know a lot about this girl but I don't know why on earth it is FRONT page news that she posted that picture. Maybe if she'd tweeted it directly to grieving parents it would be a problem, but otherwise they'd never have seen it without being shown, she meant no offence, and really, you can't just all stop mentioning guns or suicide because of this, I bet guns have been shown countless times on US tv since it happened, Im sure guns have been shown here. I don't watch corrie or I'm a Celeb so I don't know her, but everyone I saw for a two weeks was slagging her off. I think this is just blowing something out of proportion cos people don't like her. The Sun are probably just trying to distract from the Hillsborough story.
The Sun has a go at Helen Flanagan for posting that photo on her Twitter account, but then they go and post it full page on the front of their newspaper? You stay classy, The Sun

I agree, I don't think she did it maliciously. With a lot of things she says/does doesn't think what the consequences might be
. The papers in no way should have run off to America to get a front page story though.
Judging by her further behaviour in reply to the fall out from the Sun's actions, it does seem like she is reveling in the attention. I'm going with my gut and saying she knew exactly what she was doing when posting the picture. Again, can't believe so many are defending her. The Sun are far worse and really ridiculous for making a story out of it, yes, but HF's actions on their own are still no less horrible.
What a selfish and maybe even downright nasty piece of work she appears to be.
Real gun or plastic gun, the undertones are exactly the same.
Irrespective of what this matters to the events of a few days ago, its just completely irresponsible, when is it acceptable to glamourise guns?
You only have to look at the ads for games like "Halo"
and "Medal of Honor" on the TV to see firearms
glamourised, not to mention pop videos like
Katy Perry's "Part of Me" which is basically
an advertisment for the US military. If Flanagan
hadn't been pointing the gun at herself, and the
shooting tragedy hadn't occured in the
last few days, the pic probably
wouldn't have gotten any attention.

I read it online, and I think it's pretty obvious to anyone with half an eye that it wasn't the bereaved parents they spoke to.

That's an interesting angle. Especially given her alleged mental health issues.
When it's a not a real gun and it's done in the name of art?

Freedom of expression is all the acceptance you need. As long as it's not illegal (so it uses a prop gun) then I have no issue with it being done.
Does that mean I necessarily agree with it? Not really, especially with someone who is known to be in a pretty fragile mental state.

I'm proud to say I don't read the scum and I'm going by what has been posted on here ...
I don't read it either, but one has to lower one's reading standards to get a better picture in this case.
*puts on Lady Snooty hat*
Sorry Salty... This lady won't lower her standards when it comes to the scum
Whatever.

Merry Christmas Salty xx.... Due to the scum headlines about Hillsborough it has never passed the threshold since April 89 and never will ...

Never passed my threshold in its physical form - EVER.

And "I cried to my boyfriend before he went to work2" helen can turn on the tears like a tap as we saw in the jungle.
Unfortunately .. My mother bought it before then as it was her house ... So I had no choice ....
