Gigs you wish you'd been at....

I know it's been done before, as I've just searched , but the last thread was in 2010.

I was mooching on youtube yesterday and found this version of Blind Faith recorded in 2011 at the Brixton Academy. The atmosphere looks so incredible that I really wished I was there, which got me thinking about other gigs I wished I could have been at.

This is the clip that got me thinking

I wish I'd been here (Elbow, full orchestra, Seldom Seen Kid)

And here (Radiohead, Glastonbury, 2003)

How about the rest of you (and if any FMs were at the gigs above, what are your memories?)

The Rolling Stones, Hyde Park 1969.

    Reasons;
    1. It was The Stones..no further explanation needed.
    2.It was freee!!!
    3.The weather looked fantastic.
4.It was poignant. Brian Jones had recently died.

I would've liked to see The Beatles and Queen live, just in general, no specific gig.

Westlife's first two tours (Dreams Come True and In The Round), just 'cos they're the only two tours I never saw.

Robbie Williams' Knebworth gig. I saw him with Take That in 2011 and wasn't actually hugely impressed, 'cos of all the showing off. But he is a great performer, and I remember all the hype around the Knebworth show, and I think the atmosphere must've been great.

And some of the earlier Oasis shows because I didn't ever see them live until their last ever Wembley show.

Normally if I miss an artist I'm a fan of I get over it quickly so there's not many I still wish I'd gone to. However, I do really regret missing Marina and the Diamonds' last gig when she was in my city (or indeed any shows she did in any nearby cities). The Electra Heart tour that is, I've seen a video of the full show on Youtube and really wish I could have been there in person.

Same here for Prince. I did see him in 1993, but it wasn't a patch on the Lovesexy gig. Still watch it with regrets I never experienced it live.

I was at Glastonbury, but missed Flaming Lips. They tour a lot though so it's not a missed forever act...

When Thin Lizzy opened for Queen.

I read that Freddie had several hissy fits 'cos they were going down so well ;)

    This is an easy one.

Bob Dylan, at the Manchester Free Trade Hall in 1966.

Its the concert thats on the wrongly titled 'royal albert hall' bootleg album, where he does the first half solo with his acoustic guitar and the second half with his new band and electric guitars and accompaniment, and gets heckled badly for 'selling out'.

The gigs at Carnegie Hall that made up the 'Nina Simone in Concert' album - some of the most powerful live performances on record.

My dad was there! We watched the DVD of it few years ago and there was a shot of the crowd which showed a guy who was really "getting into the spirit" of things, and my dad said that he remembered seeing him! :)

Queen at Wembley Stadium in '86. I couldn't really go to this at the time as I was only 3 and my musical taste at that age was pretty much limited to cartoon theme songs :D

But when I got into Queen properly in my late teens I got this on DVD and was utterly blown away. Being there would've been very special.

Kiss with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (on Alive IV).

I wouldn't have thought an orchestra could work with a rock band, but they really did, in particular making Black Diamond even more epic.
