6 degrees of seperation Noel Clarke played Mickey Smith in Doctor Who. Alex Kingston another memeber of the team was also in Docotr Who as River Song aka Melody Pond. Both good actors look forward to this.

That's not Six Degrees of Separation. They were both in the same programme. Six Degrees of Separation finds a link where there is no obvious link.

Not sure how the autism will work. Would he be able to be a police officer?

Well it works ok for Saga Noren in The Bridge. Not exactly original to pick out the USP of a successful Nordic Noir character and transplant it to an ITV drama but it'll be interesting to see how it works.

The male detective reminds me of Nicholas Lyndhurst's character in New Tricks.

Its been pretty ropey accross the board IMO, particularly Alex Kingston and the son. Dont think the script is helping either.

Im in two minds about staying with it

Can't stand Reece Shearsmith (why do they keep giving him work?). Tuned in for Alex Kingston. Not sure I'll stick with it, but no doubt there will be a cliffhanger.

The English version of The Bridge? Sean definitely has Aspergers.

I really enjoyed it and hope to see more, gripping stuff.

How many episodes are there this series?

I tuned in after reading praise for Reese Shearsmith's "The Widower" program but like clm2071, I'm not gripped by Chasing Shadows. The plot's run-of-the-mill.

    The ending tonight was good.

It's pretty dark, I like it.

    Pretty average stuff, obvious cliffhanger.

I'll probably give the next one a go in the hope it improves.

Love Shearsmith, thought it was great. And the ending made me jump. Look forward to next weeks.

It was a bit ropey and trying a bit hard and Reece Shearsmith's character was a bit over-drawn (another detective with behaviour suggestive of being somewhere on the autistic spectrum but never stated as such) but it did enough (cliff hanger) to make me want to watch next week's episode.

Yeah that bit made me jump!

I hope for a second series.

Why not just say in the show he has Aspergers/autism? it would be different and ground breaking.

I'm hopeless at knowing names - I know their faces...

I partly watched it because I like Alex Kingston and I recognised Shearsmith's face but I have no idea where I've seen him before. I think he has one of those faces that almost disappears into the charácter he's playing.

I think he's developing an interesting charácter here but I think it's silly to believe that he would have reached the rank of DS with his attitude.

I thought Alex was fine. She has expressive eyes and did the best with her lines.

I'll watch next week and give it a chance.

Aspects of that reminded me of 'A Touch of Cloth' more than any other police show :p Didn't think the plot or the set-up were that great, and I thought the characterisation was a bit hard to buy into.

I'll probably watch the next three episodes just show I can evaluate the production as a whole but it hasn't gripped me the same way shows like Happy Valley, Broadchurch, Line of Duty, The Fall and Scott & Bailey did from the outset.
