Wash it at a 1000C in the washing machine. Hopefully it won't come out the right size for Action Man :D

Invest in a bulk purchase of Sara Lee double chocolate gateau. Eat 3 a day, it will fit in no time

It won't shrink to Medium/small I think, just wait until there's new stock

I wouldn't buy it to be honest. It's not worth the risk. Pick a different jumper in your size.

Don't do it unless it's really stupidly cheap and you don't mind wasting the money! You'll end up with short sleeves and odd proportions, if it even shrinks much at all

They were joking. It's a fairly typical response when someone asks how to shrink clothes :)

Personally I wouldn't even attempt it, unless you don't mind ruining it.

I'm still in the bad books for shrinking my husband's favourite jumper a couple of months back. Oh well... I got a 'new' cashmere blend jumper out of the mishap :o

As Mrs De Winter said, short sleeves, odd proportions, etc.

I wouldn't know, for me shrinking is something I have only ever done by accident!

You could probably shrink it quite easily but that doesn't mean it will shrink in proportion.

If you want them to shrink, they grow. If you want them to grow, they shrink.

Well, that's my experience of washing machines.

Deliberately shrinking clothes is pretty unlikely to work well. If it's a jumper it'll also get felted or matted as well as shrink, and if it's cheaply made then it's as likely to fall apart as it is to shrink. And if there are bits which are made of different proportions of cotton/poly (eg cuffs or a logo or a collar or neckbands or something) then they're likely to shrink differently to everything else.

I wouldn't bother OP, I just can't see how it would work and look good.
