Wth? If you actually believe SNP has called for a ban on Tunnock's teacakes you'll believe anything. :D

*looks at a couple of people in this thread*

Even the SNP wouldn't be mad enough to think they contain all the Nats in Scotland.

I don't think in danger going bankrupt anyway.

Be different if of smaller businesses for their religious or political views which has in past happened in NI and the Republic.

Wouldn't want happen in Scotland as wouldn't be right.

what's the SNP got to do with this AT ALL eejit?

only one dork has mentioned it, and even though they don't explicitly say they are "made in scotland", i consider them to be wholly scottish as they are made here!

but for how much longer .....

    :D - Oh dear!

My thoughts exactly. A none story and very much the usual from certain journalists that only write what they think readers of there rags want to read. Selective hearing at its finest.

Totally agree. It was possible 1 - yes ONE - person who may or may not have been a Scottish Nationalist. Certainly it was not nationalistS and is certainly not the view of the majority of Scots.

I just hate troll headlines like this - one step away from bigotry.

They seem to contain all the nuts in Scotland though.

In like how "ex-pats" people who themselves have abandoned Scotland for something better are now shouting about what a Scottish company wants to put on its adverts.

Yeah, I remember having a rant about it on Facebook at the time because so many folk were saying they were going to boycott them. Taking their rage out on the delicious teacake. >:(

It has always been a Scottish cake and those of us here in Scotland are proud of all things related to our country and all the things we have given to the world and people relate to Scotland with things in their everyday lives.

Do they do a dark chocolate version of the Tunnock's tea cake, and if not, why not.

Not sure. They do a dark chocolate version of their caramel wafers though.

I'm not Scottish and I enjoy them.

Does that make me a racist?

Seems counter productive to run such an ad campaign when 'Scottish' is one of their selling points. Rather like 'Cornish' pasties. The OH likes them and buys them as presents for our Scottish friends. We always have Mackie's ice cream as well the noo ;-)

I keep trying to buy some of the dark chocolate ones but, typically, all I ever see in shops is the milk variety.

There's nothing in their advertising about "Scottish", they don't name their products "Scottish tea cakes". "Cornish Pasty" is a specific name.
