PLease help. I have had a look on this forum for recommendations of indoor TV aerials and am no wiser than I was before i came here. There seem to be pro's and con's for "rabbit ears" "loops" and miniature outdoor aerials. Which is the best????? This isnt a trick question, I just want to know which style of aerial is suitable for an indoor TV. The TV i have just purchased has come with its own lame aerial (just a single loop) which cannot even pick up channels 1-4 let alone channel 5. I am located on the 2nd floor of a converted house in West London. I have no idea no intertest in where my nearest signal is coming from. All I know is i need to purchase an indoor aerial to improve the picture quality and would appreciate some recommendations. There is no option of hanging an outdoor aerial inside the bedroom, nor mounting an outdoor aerial outside the window. Can anyone explain the best 'type; of aerial and even better some models.
Thanks very much in advance.

What are these "rabbit ears" you speak of?
The loop aerials supplied with TV sets are as useful as a glass hammer IMO, and unsurprisingly, the reception from them is crap.
I'd recommend you get a simple indoor aerial, much like mine. Looks like minature version of an outdoor TV aerial, expect that it's a bit smaller and not as ugly. Used to sell it in Argos for £6.99.

I have seen the miniature outdoor aerial like this...
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=2501&productId=109871
But there is no mention of gain or amplification so I;m not sure how much better this would be than the simple round one I have already got. The same aerial works better in the kitchen area so it is obvious that the bedroom is not a great for reception so I'm thinking it may require amplification. Is it wise to get an aerial similar to the Telecam mini outdoor style area and use a booster/amp with it??
By the way your signals for channel 5 comes from croydon transmitter and BBC, ITV and CH4 comes from the crystal palace transmitter.
And if your recpetion is still poor your gonna have to buy a signal booster from here. http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=2501&langId=-1&searchTerms=Signal+Boosters (Lucky I only live 4 miles away from the transmitters  )
By the way is your TV a matsui?
Ok, just bought 2 aerials from Argos to compare.....

To say they are both crap would be giving them both unjust praise. They both do as bad a job as eachother despite £20 price difference. Although they are both marginally better than the standard aerial provided with the TV. Not sure where to go from here. Seeing as the Telecam has no gain/amp then I guess adding a booster to this could help. The Philips one aparently has gain but this doesnt seem to make much difference.
Any suggestions????
How good are the boosters?
I bought a ONE FOR ALL indoor arial and now my picture is very good. I can even get channel 5 which was impossible with my outdoor aerial.
Worked for me so give it a go....you can always take it back.
