Recording from Foxsat HDR

Hi
I have a Foxsat HD R scarted to a Toshiba DVD recorder and was wondering if it is possible to record from the Foxsat to DVD R while watching something else on the Foxsat? I think that you can do this with a Virgin V Box but not with a Sky + box. But what about a Foxsat?
