You think F1 has it bad but this weekends Australian GP has a mandatory bike change about halfway into the race as the tyres won't last more than 14 laps! The moto2 race has also been shortened to 13 laps. All due to the new tarmac at Phillip Island.

Sensible decision. What F1 should have done in Indianapolis in 2005.

Bridgestone made new tyres this week that they said would be fine...little did they know that the temperature was 12 degrees last year but 26 this year

Beggers belief that those massive black beasts of tyres can only handle 15 mins of racing

Don't even get me started on what happened in the race!

Just FYI my sky box recorded the qualifying this morning on the race series link but has dropped the race this afternoon.
Best check if you're relying on recording it.

My Freesat recording stopped just after the finish of the race but the whole programme is up on iPlayer. Better than the quali on the Red Button HD yesterday which failed completely so I had to watch my Red Button SD recording on Freeview instead.
