A chance to talk about your musical heroes or favourites who died too young.
There are a huge number of stars who still had something to offer, some who were yet to peak, but died either by their own hands or through tragic circumstances.
Let's hear who are your favourites and what you feel abut them.

One very smart woman. Died at the age of 30 in a car accident during her spiritual retreat in Honduras.
Died aged just 27 after releasing just one album, and spending the last four years of his life practically continuously touring.
To my mind (and ears) he was set to become the next legend - the greatest singer/songwriter of a generation.
He inspired so many artists like Radiohead and Muse, as well as many others who now try to sing like him.
I myself was inspired to write music and play after hearing the posthumous release of 'Sketches for... My Sweetheart The Drunk'.
For me, Grace is my joint favourite album. It is beautiful, haunting, varied, dark and very personal.
That one album alone for me makes Jeff one of the greatest artists ever.

I adored her as well. An underrated Icon.
I find it amazing that a man so YOUNG had such a mature and amazing voice.
I was a fan for a good while before I found out his age at death and it shocked the life out of me.
He was a studio employee before he was overheard singing, and was offered the chance to record a song. He soon became the 'voice' of Stax Records.
Again, a huge influence on what was to become, and to my mind, his songs are just not famous enough today. People only really know 'Dock of the Bay' but he was a master of soul.

He died aged 46, after releasing Queen's best album in over a decade, and in the eyes of Queen fans like myself he died too young.
However, I believe for Freddie it was probably about right.
Freddie was a man who hated the thought of getting old, hated the thought of not being able to perform and sing with the vigour and style we all knew him to have.
For the sake of this thread, I think Freddie would say he does not belong here.
As a lifelong fan, I have decided he does belong here - big time.
Next week (24th) sees the 18th anniversary of his death.

Mr Bad Guy 1985:
English singer/songwriter and musician best known for his haunting, acoustic autumnal songs.
His work has become more and more listened to and respected, to the point that he now ranks among the most influential English singer-songwriters of the last 50 years.
Brian Jones
Jimi Hendrix
Jim Morrison
Janis Joplin
Kurt Cobain
Clearly Jeff Buckley and Otis Redding can be added to that membership list.
Almost 25 years since he died. RIP
Buckley was 30 when he passed away, Redding had just turned 26.
I'll add Richey Edwards to the list, he was 27 when he vanished
LOL, i thought my iffy memory couldnot be relied upon.
Thanks for the corrections.
He was officially declared dead last year
She was my idol. I absolutely loved her and regularly talked to her online. I have her signature, too, but I never met her
I love her album, Supernova, still today despite not really liking R&B music.
Some other late, great singer songwriters I'd like cast some light on:
Jeff Hanson - Sweet songs, astonishing voice. Angelic. Passed away five months ago, aged 31.
Matthew Jay - An artist with a huge amount of potential and a great ear for melody, but unfortunately passed away after falling through a window back in 2001, aged 24.
Elliott Smith - I can't confess to loving all his work, but the sheer poignancy in his lyrics is nothing short of haunting. I chose this song in particular because the sadness in his voice when he sings the line: "XO, Mom, it's okay, it's alright, nothing's wrong" has never failed to send a shiver up my spine.
karen carpenter died aged 32 again from anorexia - absolutely horrific disease. I can't get my head round the fact she had everything going for her but still managed to succumb to it.
deffinatley gone to soon.
Jerry Nolan
Billy Murcia
Arthur 'killer' Kane
Fred 'Sonic' Smith
Stiv Bators
All missed.
Surprised no one has mentioned Buddy Holly died age 23.
I think most of them seem to have been thrown into the mix. But if people are throwing Freddie Mercury into the ring at 46, I'll stick Elvis Presley in died at 42.
While he may have written his songs, he certainly helped shape rock & roll.
Despite what people said about him he was a musical genuis and no other artist could even compare. He was a legend with remarkable talent and because of that there'll never be another like him. I'll miss him forever.
I also adore Roy Orbison, who died at 52 - is that too early?
Some may say not so considering he had a 30 year career, but to me there was more to come still from a man who never lost his silky, perfect voice.
