We found a VERY large dildo on the side of the road once... :o

    We left it there!

My ex, only 17 at the time, found a unopened package on someone's doorstep on my estate. Anyway she and her friend opened it and inside was a vibrator. Shocked and intrigued at their discovery, they both went back to my exs and tried it out togrther!

When I was a teen, was in a friend's house, and they had one of those deep seated sofas, where you could slip your hand down its sides, so I did that one time, and brought up an amazing amount of lost items, including a bar of soap, and I continued searching the sofa innards, and found a ring! The ring belonged to my friend's mum who had lost it years before. She was so happy to have it back, and was so grateful to me for finding it :D

A former neighbor of mine found loads of buried crap in her garden when she moved in after them. Mostly bottles and cans.

I found a line of bricks buried in my back garden. What were they for?
You were lucky as I found glass in my back garden, then spent a year taking it all out!

We used to go looking for ghosts in some of the old abandoned buildings around here. One day we found something much worse.. A tramp hunched over wanking himself into a frenzy over a porn mag.

I don't generally find much apart from people comatose on the ground (I seem to be drawn towards them), money, and most of the stuff on archaeological digs is a nice surprise but expected at the same time (bog ore, tools, moulds, bones, structural remains etc).

My best unexpected find was when I was training for a long distance walk. Went over some hills on a day walk and decided to stop for lunch next to a gorse bush. Out popped a domesticated rabbit! Walked round to the other side of the bush to try and catch her and found an indoor cage with a Primark blanket draped over it. No food no water. Managed to wrangle her into the cage after about an hour, walked miles and miles to the nearest village that had a vet surgery, and almost six years later, we still have her :)

I was in Spain when I was about 5 and walking along the beach with my nan having a splash in the sea and trying to jump waves as they came in. Anyway I completely mistimed the big one and had my feet swept from underneath me and ended up going under the water. Needless to say, in the panic I was trying to grab at anything I could because I was on back, and I remember feeling something in my hand so kept hold of it. I was eventually (as in probably about 5 seconds although it felt like a lifetime then) dragged back upright by my nan and some guy who saw, and once I'd recovered I remembered I had something in my hand. My nan asked what it was so I showed her. I'd only found what she assumed to be a gold sovereign. Back at our apartment my nan showed it to my gramps and he had a look and actually recognised it as a 1oz South African Krugerrand.

I've also found a quite expensive digital camera in a nightclub, and a "stash" tin containing around £1100 in notes in Eastham country park one day when I was walking my dog (and no - that's not a euphemism for anyone who knows about that place).

You could have bought a fine mesh sieve, dug up the topsoil, sieved it, which would have got rid of most of the glass and bits of china.

I found about £600 on my staircase earlier this year, but I handed it back, even though I could have lied and kept it. But, I didn't want the hassle, as I'd always be under suspision, and most likely it was poison drug money. They weren't very nice people and karma will sort them out hopefully. They've left now, after I asked them to leave, and the latest I heard is one is spending some time in the clink. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person. How I laughed (inside), when I saw him one day and he had a tooth missing from a fight.

Once found a purse containing about £17 in a phone box in the days when that was almost a weeks wages. So dialed the operator and told her was taking it to the local police station. No big deal I know but made it all worthwhile for us both when I received a letter from a grateful schoolgirl who had gone shopping for her mother with the weeks housekeeping money.

That the ladies changing cubicle in my local Primark adjoins the men's one with only a hardboard dividing wall and the shared wall mirror affords rather a nice view.

This reminds me of the time me and my colleagues were in town on our lunch break and we found a carrier bag with some knee boots in them stuffed in a bin outside the sandwich shop. One of my colleagues was into getting stuff from charity shops or free so decided she'd keep them ( they weren't in good condition I might add but she always liked a freebie). Anyway, we got back to work, she tried them on then dug down into the rest of the bag and pulled out a massive vibrator:o needless to say the whole lot went in the bin!

I once found a rather large package of white powder in the playground of the nursery I worked in, we worked directly below some really scummy flats that were regularly raided by the police and housed some very dodgy people. Also found a washing up bowl and a blackened pizza that had clearly been on fire once:D outdoor play time was very interesting!

When my mum was a kid her neighbour buried his old car in the back garden! He actually had to dismantle it, carry it through the gate then reassemble it to bury:confused: I'd love to know if it's still there!

My grandpa buried a VW Beetle in his back garden. I've no idea why. He was rather odd though. I loved him :)

Last year my dad held an event in our village and I helped him on the day with all proceeds donated to charity. When we got home I looked through a box of books which were donated by various people (for an event my dad is holding) and as I was leafing through a Catherine Cookson book (my late nans favourite authour) three old £50 notes fell out of the book. I like to think it was my nan saying thank you for what we had done that day.

I don't think I've found anything exciting but my colleague was clearing out her recently deceased Nan's wardrobes and found shoebox upon shoebox filled with money. There was over £20,000 at the back of the wardrobe!

Tell me that isn't really true, as it's a bit out there.

Yep totally true, I've been told by my mum and my grandparents on several different occasions...my grandad even helped him move it!
