Who/What are you named after?

My middle name is after my Auntie Mary, so when I was wee I thought my middle name was actually Auntie Mary.

I was named after a woman whose name my mum & dad saw on the end credits of Tomorrow's World. They couldn't decide on my name so they put our surname after every name they saw & liked the sound of that one.

I found my daughters name in a football match day programme. There was an article about my favourite footballer and it named his daughter! Both me and hubby loved the name and I still love it 12 years later xxx

I think they just liked the name. I've been told I 'look like a Rachel' so maybe they just thought the same when I was born.

I don't think I'm named after anyone, I think my parents just liked my name. I'm the middle child and my brother, sister and I all have names that begin with the same letter. Not sure if that was done deliberately though! My Dad apparently wanted to call me Kevin if I was a boy. :eek:

I got my eldest son's name from the surname of someone who was in a famous band.

As my Mother, RIP, would love telling me, i was a complete mistake and they didnt want to name me but had to so they named me after a woman on Radio Two having a rant on a phone in apparently, that story always warms my heart
