Are Jewelled Hairbands Tacky or Cute?

I bought this nice vintage dress off motel earlier (http://www.motelrocks.com/categories/VINTAGE/NATALIE-DRESS/) and I want a cool, boho accessory to go with it. I was going to get one of those chocker necklaces (from etsy, with an elephant pendant on it) that seem to be everywhere ATM but as my dress has a high neck I couldn't get a black one - and other colours weren't as nice. So scrolling through the accessories page on ASOS, I came across this headband:

HOWEVER, I did think that they can look a bit naff, tacky, hippy etc and I'm not sure if I'd be able to pull one off. I really like the vintagy look it gives off, but I did see them around a while back so have they gone out of fashion by now?:/ Here are some others I considered:

My opinion may not be too relevant as I formed it after reading the thread title and before reading your post.

They're neither, they are what they are. No doubt some people will think they are tacky or cute and many won't think about them at all but surely the most important thing is to not care too much about other's opinions? If you feel you want to wear something, just work away.

I like them - would look great with that dress, and a pair of ankle biker style boots

Yes, agree with this. I have been a sensible dresser all my life and now I regret it. I am approaching 50 now and I have gotten more confident and wear clothes that I really want to wear. Before I did not like to stand out but now I like people saying that they like this or that. (I am not wearing muttony stuff, just more fitted and with more accessories.) but I wish I had done it earlier. So please, wear what YOU like and have confidence in your own opinions.

Oh I agree with this, I am 44 and now wear what I want and like without wondering if it was too this or too that. I love jewelled hairbands and own quite a few, I think they set your hair off lovely. I find it very liberating not worrying what other people think about what I wear now!

Edit: I didn't look at the links, I haven't got any like those, but in wish I did they look beautiful
