    "The Sun has gone in"

    We all know what it means but it's wrong. The Sun doesn't go anywhere, it's the clouds that move. I guess it's a form of verbal shorthand.

    My heart leaps up when I behold

    A rainbow in the sky:
    So was it when my life began;
    So is it now I am a man;
    So be it when I shall grow old,
    Or let me die!
    The Child is father of the Man;
    And I could wish my days to be
    Bound each to each by natural piety.

    It's disputed but most likely that Wordsworth is saying that a man is the product of his behaviours developed in childhood. He is noting in the poem that it was his love of nature as a child that stayed with him as he grew up.

    Thank you ! :)

    OK I'll bite.

    It's" no room to swing a cat", which refers to the cat o nine tails whip used to punish the crew on ships, hence the lack of space. So cruelty to people but not cats.
