I'm sure Junior Choice will be on on Christmas Day.

I'd imagine, and this is a complete guess that Christmas Day morning will be :-

    7am - Good Morning Christmas
    9am - Junior Choice
    11am - Paul O'Grady

Chris Evans last show before the break is Friday 20th so here's hoping Richard covers for breakfast from 23rd right thru' to January 3rd (except Xmas Day)

Shame no Goodier this year, I guess it falls slightly differently so less weekday mornings/afternoons to cover during the 27-31

I believe that 5-8pm show on NY Eve for Vanessa is her review of the year that's featured in Radio 2's Christmas highlights press release.

I would say what's been posted is pretty accurate but not yet finalised.

It's quite a good schedule this year, lots of live stuff in the early mornings with Alex and Richard A which will be a hoot, a couple of pre-records that I'd put in the bin but other than that, it's all good. Enjoy!

Yes!, Tony did New Year's Eve last year at the same time and I think the year before he did 7 - 10pm although I might be wrong.

So Chris Evans has weeks off yet again; amazing how the R1 and R2 Brekky presenters seem to be able to have so much time off.

Grimmy is having 2 weeks off same as Chris Evans - doesnt seem ages to me and remember their all freelance!

Chris does seem to have quite a bit of time off but this could because of other projects within the BBC

Greg James incidentally is having 3 weeks off!

It's not really a holiday if they are working doing something else for the BBC or anyone really. A holiday is two weeks, go function Starfish on a beach in the sun.

Appalling the number who who are absent over Christmas. Surely, freelance or not, there should be some requirement over Christmas and the New Year. As the above ehws, some stations are hardly recognizable from usual.

As there are no RAJAR figures accumulated over the Christmas and NY periods I would say it was ideal time for the main presenters to take a two week break.

For me it will make a refreshing change to hear some different voices on Radio 2. As much as I enjoy Chris Evans it will be a pleasant change to have Richard covering. Could do without Claudia though in for ken (Michael Ball must be in Panto). I can even stomach Jon and Miranda in for Steve for one afternoon and Craig Charles in for Steve is always a pleasure, especially his Christmas Eve show.

I think they should all get a full two weeks off at chrimbo and just play a tape of carols and Christmas tunes on a loop for two weeks, close all the shops too, have a proper Christmas at home with their families. Roast an Ox on the villiage green with their neighbours, make snowmen together and put on impromptu pantos in bus shelters. Those were the days...

To all the people who are complaining about all these presenters have time off, I take it you are working all though the Christmas and New Year period and not having any time off.

Sounds good on the face of it, but if you choose to work in the entertainment industry surely you must expect to be entertaining people during their holidays.

What next, waiters in cafes having the dinner hour off or hotel staff shutting down to go home a 5pm in the evening.

    I've never heard such rubbish.

Lots of industries have temporary workers and stand-ins over the Christmas period so their regular staff can have a holiday. Post. Parcel deliveries, shops, bars, restaurants, security, call centres, plumbers even on line shopping. The idea that Radio 2 should provide their regular presenters over the holiday period is as rubbish and stupid as demanding that you don't get a stand-in postman to deliver your Christmas cards. Radio 2 will still provide entertainment 24/7, if you don't like the entertainment, you can always make a song and dance about it yourself.
