The runners who are "running" to his right are a right bunch of lard arses.

It's quite embarrassing. I was expecting a fit runner in shorts and singlet to be streaking through the streets with some sense of urgency and purpose.

No matter how much the damned Olympics are thrust down our throats at every opportunity and wherever possible, I remain totally underwhelmed by every aspect of it.

The frantic lady goon is entertaining, I'm not looking at the torch.

Nice footage of the back of a van there. What's not to like?

Isn't it cheating if you take it around on a car?

I'm sure I just saw the driver flick his ciggy out the window. They're moving quite fast now down some country road in that van.

I bet the locals feel cheated only to see a van driving pass.

What happens if the 'flame' goes out, do they have to start all over from the beginning again ?

They used a very long wick. They have a temple dedicated to the goddess of the long wick and it's been burning there since antiquity.

Aye an anti climax just like when the queen came to our town in 1977 as part of the silver jubilee. I'm still not convinced it was her.

it was ceremonially lit from the same holy furnace where Seb Coe burns wads of hundreds of thousands of pounds every day

I wonder if he lit it with the scared flame?

    Will Zeus strike him down?
