I half expected Froome to put 20-30 seconds into Contador with the long hard climb at the end. Today, he was watching the other riders and not pacing his effort. He appeared completely drained at the line. Froome misses out overall by 97 seconds; 53s lost in the first two-thirds of the Stage 10 ITT.

Did Valverde crunch his gears causing him to be dropped?

Gaps far too big in top 5 to change in the short ITT tomorrow. Martin is 17 seconds behind Sanchez in sixth.

Contador was clever/using gamesmanship. He let Froome do the work and then took advantage. If he had shared the work they may have got more time and the result may have been different.

Rule No. 1 for visitors to Spain: You don't mess with the Guardia Civil
Let's hope they get the person who threw this at Froome: http://youtu.be/d29rJjbmewg

the early riders had it bone dry.. by the time the top men came out the weather was pouring rain and the course became very slick
hence all the early riders had easily the best times

There's some cycling on ES this afternoon....

1.45 Wallonie Grand Prix - a one day race from Belgium

Looking at the past winners, Gilbert, Nuyens, Bakelants it appears to be one for the classics riders

Cataldo is back racing in the World's Sky TTT team with Kiryienka, Puccio, Siutsou, Thomas and Wiggins next Tuesday.

The GB team (After tomorrow's vote will it just be B Team? :o) for the men's road race is Cummings, Froome, Kennaugh, Millar, Rowe, Swift, Thomas and the Yates brothers. No road race for Wiggins who competes in the ITT with Dowsett.

Women’s road race team is Armitstead, A Barnes, H Barnes, Christian, Garner and Last.

Men's RR course for Sunday 28th on the (slow) official website: http://www.mundialciclismoponferrada.com/descargas/6992846.pdf

All the big names will be preparing for the UK track champs, I imagine, trying to get onto the national squad. Big competition for places now.

Currently on the UCI YouTube channel: http://youtu.be/PgrBv3R-oZE

BBC have the TV broadcast rights in UK but are not listing coverage today: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/29252239

As last year, BES do not have broadcast rights.

It's a shame because ES used to cover it properly, basically showing every event live

Obviously the Beeb can't do that so lots of it just passes by unnoticed and most of the events they are covering are stuck away on the red button

Drama in the women's TTT - Rabo Liv were on for second until one of their riders overshot a corner about 2km from the finish.

From what I've read on the Cyclingnews forum, the broadcasters have to negotiate with Infront Sports & Media (an agency) for rights to all UCI WC. This took effect last year, and they cannot agree terms with Eurosport as things stand.

It also happens with the semi-Classics like the KBK. The race organiser can earn more revenue selling exclusive rights to several national broadcasters than just one Europe wide budget broadcaster.

When BBC coverage starts the UCI YouTube channel will probably be geo-blocked.

BMC won the Men's Team Time Trial

    2nd - Oreca
    3rd - OPQS

that UCI youtube channel is good........I watched a bit earlier. It sounded like Hugh Porter doing the commentary.........he's certainly been very busy since he 'retired'.....:o

I hope not because it is better quality than the red button service.

I'm hoping that because they are not a commercial broadcaster they havent asked for it to be geo blocked

Just looked in on the UCI Channel.......it's the men's U21 time trial and Irishman Ryan Mullen is leading with only 8 riders to come in..........all of whom were slower than him at the intermediate time checks

    Looking good for gold !
