It may have been a mistake on the part of the BBC but Stormont was definitely mentioned as a source of receipt for this water.

The bbc did get it wrong (as usual). http://www.u.tv/News/Water-shortages-affecting-40000-people/6954168f-652e-4bd9-acc4-71b39d31f0ed

Sky News reported that Stormont had been in touch with Scotland and secured a supply of water. Did you honestly think it was for themselves alone ?

Heard a rumour this afternoon that water may be turned off in Bangor sometime today. I have filled bottles and pans just in case.

Scotland to give 160,000 litres of bottled water to Stormont.

The like looking after the like then, sod the people that don't have any water.

Am not understanding your point here ....

are you sniffing glue or something? we are short of water not because of the lack of water in our reservoirs, but because we had -28C temperatures which burst pipes and as things thawed the supply escaped into glens and rivers. The problem has not been made any better than the random switching off of the water without informing when it is going on again. seriously do not compare this to global warming, its got nothing to do with it. Its just about a lazy , greedy water company totally up the creek with no paddle and no bloody water!

No- I was not. I just thought about the current shortage and the fact that water is a limited resource. Some people live in an utopia where nothing will run out.

The world will run out of water before oil and we need to manage it better.

Why can't they use army engineers to help fix the bursts.? Or bring in private teams from England, Wales, Scotland or From over the Irish border.

I'm shocked that people have to go to community centres to pick up water, it doesn't sound very fair to people that don't have transport. I remember a few years ago here (Central Scotland) we were without water for 2 days and vans came round all the streets distributing water to everyone. I don't think it was on such a large scale though so that may be why N.I can't do the same.

That would, sadly, be asking for trouble in some places. Especially in parts of Derry City & Lurgan.

The Mexicans are also dealing with water supply problems themselves...

The thought of trouble with the army on the streets crossed my mind after posting :o . But if people want water they have to compromise..

LOL at Mexicans :D.. That's what I will call people from England now, especially Chester...

Would you care to explain how we will run out of water?
