I tend to doubt online suicides without corroboration, much like all the supposedly terminally ill people who manage to post for nigh on a decade after their diagnoses and are still going strong.
It'd be good if there was something you could do when someone threatens suicide online. There are national reporting sites for scams and illegal porn, it's a shame there's nothing similar for that.
All you can do if it's not local to your police department is hope they don't and are messing around I suppose, but a few are real. Even if they are in your country you can hardly go ringing 999 every time somebody deletes their Instagram can you?

People threaten to kill themselves online all the time. Attention seekers usually.

Apparently his name was Shoaib Nadeem and was 17 years old. Jumped from a car park on Monday.

It reports as well that a few people were goading him to jump. Absolutely sickening.
I was in the area on Monday and noticed the police closing the road but I thought someone had just robbed the Today's shop again.
