    Are you thinking of volunteering Windy? It will boost your confidence, and give you customer service skills that you can transfer to paid work.

    The only perks, I would have thought, are getting first dibs on the stuff that's donated.

    You're not allowed to do that in CR-UK shops.

    You can in Barnardo's though :p

    I used to do one afternoon a week in Oxfam, and the ladies who sorted and priced the donations used to have a bin where they put anything unsellable - the rest of the staff were allowed to have a rummage before it went to the tip.

    But when the bags came in, tempting though it was, I never had a peek to see if there was any treasure.
