Why are all the shops open on Easter Sunday in Scotland, even the buses are running as normal today and bank holiday Monday with bus drivers still working until one in the morning . It feels like Easter doesn't matter in Scotland.
It all depends on the size of shop, certain smaller stores will more than likely open.Larger stores such as department stores,DIY stores and Garden Centres cannot trade on Easter Sunday in England and I think Wales too.
Scotland is exempt from this law, part of the Sunday Trading Act 1994.
It annoys me to read people saying they're off work and want to go shopping.Store personnel have to work to cater for people with thoughts like these.Don't forget we'd like a day off too once in a while and 1 day with no shops open won't hurt anyone.
It's doesn't annoy me and I work in retail. I work two Sundays in four. It's about time Sunday just became a normal day in retail so they can decide when to open just like any other business in the UK.
