I never got round to watching this when I had Amazon/Lovefilm Streaming so I'm pleased to see it starts on the History channel next week.

I've just watched series one on DVD. Cannot wait until series two is released in the UK, along with Black Sails.

I thought this would be exclusive to Amazon and then released on DVD without tv showings like the Netflix original shows.

Like Netflix, Amazon has its own "originals," but Vikings is not one of them. The deal that Amazon made to run Vikings in the UK clearly was just for "first run," but wasn't exclusive.

I saw a photo of the cast of the Vikings TV series and it struck me that one of them was a Kirk Douglas "seventy year-old look-alike."

I watched on RTE2 as well and enjoyed.

My grandmother on my mother's side of the family came from the Orkney Isles, she always told us we were Vikings.

I was sitting the other night trying to work out who their chief was.

Wouldn't like to have cross words with him or you would be beheaded if you spoke out of line.

I remember doing a project about the Vikings before and always found them to be an interesting brood of people.

one of my most fav programmes of the last few yrs just finished season 2

amazing and well worth a watch youll be hooked right away.

Love this series, have also just finished Season 2 and am more hooked than ever, cannot recommend it enough.
Am a big fan of Game of Thrones - have read all the books - this has been compared as it's poor cousin but they are actually very different. For me Vikings has a smaller more personal feel to it - probably helped by the fact that unlike GOT it does not have 257 different characters and their storyline needing to be followed LOL!!
