That would be amazing since GH is a beautiful album, one of the best
Christmas, With Love is a masterpiece & One More Sleep has become my favourite Christmas song ever (along with Mariah's All I Want For Christmas Is You)
She's done so well
Nice to see someone who has a special voice can still capture attention
I thought it already had outsold Glassheart?
I don't think it has yet, I think Glassheart is at about 90,000 so it'll outsell it this week for sure.
But sadly 'One More Sleep' is not a patch on Mariah's record - it just, IMO, exposes the gulf between the 2 artists.
Well in my opinion it's on par if not better
I think it's an absolutely great song . For me as good as All I Want For Christmas.
One more sleep more than holds it's own against All I Want for Xmas
Another vote for Leona
I don't see why it has to be compared to Marian's song. Can it not be a good song on its own right. Anyhow let's see how one more sleep is doing in 20 years time.
Absolutely - I think it will struggle to be remembered next year, and will definitely not sell 12 million. I 'm sorry but it hasn't got the sheer hook and pop power of the Mariah single, IMO, which had instantaneous classic written all over it unlike a lot of Xmas records.
in your opinion. The poster you quoted has expressed how he enjoys both songs, I'm sure it's not a difficult concept to grasp that a person can enjoy music from two different artists. To be quite honest, your posts are getting ridiculously repetitive and boring, it must be exhausting being so negative all the time? Surely, your time would be much better spent enjoying things in life rather than constantly slating things you don't like? Yes, this is a discussion forum. Yes, people are allowed opinions - and I quite frankly couldn't care less if you like Leona or not, but it's apparent that you go out of your way to post negatives about her. I just don't understand WHY people would do that?
On topic, it's nice to see the album doing so well for a seasonal record over here as well as the single. I hope it does continues to get played each year because I do think it's a great record, and one which isn't too gimmicky or ridiculous like a lot of other contemporary christmas releases. Same goes for Kelly's new single/album. I'm definitely glad both of them released this year, kept my festive-feelings a bit more fresh aha!
They seem so uptight, bless em x
Much luv x
I have yet to see Mariah's Christmas song in the charts, because the the last 25 days I haven't seen her nowhere top 20. So far your '20 years old classic written all over song'.
The fact you both say it won't be remembered is so funny it's ridiculous because it's been top 3 for weeks so to say the song won't be remembered by next year is pathetic and desperate.
Michelle we know you don't like Leona, go feed your cats or drink some water because you're thirsty for attention.
You both have issues with someone else having more success than you.
I dont think that An was being particularly shady to Leona. I might of read it wrong but I think what shes sayings right is it a Xmas classic? We'll have to see in 20 years.
The other one now yes most people on this forum know that she doesn't like Leona by know so just do like I do and bypass her opinion because it is biased to hatred no matter what Leona does.
Yeah you're right. Anika didn't mean it as shade. I misread it, I apology.
There is every chance it could be as the radio seemed to love it.
You can't be paying much attention to the rest of the UK Singles Chart as it has been in the Top 20 the last 3 weeks - it was No 12 last week and 13 this week. And it has been the highest chart entry this year of those Christmas records that regularly make a reappearance each year. Not bad for a record that has been about 20 years!!!
Without looking - can you remember what was No 3 last year the 2 weeks before Christmas? I think you will remember Leona's record as you like all her output. But will others? Not a hater comment - but a valid point methinks!
Re: radio play. I've heard that labels pay for radio play if they think a single has a chance of being a hit. Up to a 100 days. Less for a Xmas record, of course. Shorter time frame. So it sounds to me as though Syco got behind Leona. Naturally, the cost will come out of her royalties, but it probably was profitable because of increased downloads.
