I want to connect the Sky+ HD box to the Blu Ray/HDD Recorder, so that I can copy from the Sky box on to the Blu Ray Recorder.
How do I do it?
All 3 devices have the following:
HDMI.
The Blu Ray/HDD Recorder has a SCART Socket on the back as well as the TV.

No way to do it via HDMI.
If your Sky box has scart you could use that, won't record HD of course.
And that really has to be a direct connection between Sky box and recorder. It is possible the SCART on the TV has output capabilities, but very often the output is only from the built in tuner. Rarely these days does it carry a signal from an external source. In other words connecting the Sky box to the TV via HDMI and the recorder to the TV via SCART may not work. Or only let you record Freeview from the telly.
The one thing you cannot use is HDMI. The recorder has no HDMI inputs. The HDMI socket on it is output only. And even if it did have an HDMI input it would still be useless as the copy protection would kick in and prevent the Sky box sending anything to the recorder.
Which would mean that if the Sky box only has HDMI you would be stuffed.
Without knowing the make and model of recorder we don't know...
a/ whether it has component video inputs
b/ whether it can actually record from external sources anyway.
There are boxes around that are essentially a Freeview PVR with a Blu-Ray player stuffed into the same box. If the OP has one of those chances are it will only record Freeview from it's internal tuner.. It won't record from any external source.
So knowing what recorder it is would help.
Yes very true.

OK, well forget about trying to record from Sky. As I speculated above it is basically a Freeview PVR with a Blu-Ray player stuffed into the box. The only thing it can record is Freeview from it's internal tuners. And then only to the hard drive built in. The disk drive is play only.
It has no ability to record from any external device. It lacks any inputs to connect any external source to. It only has outputs.
It should've been:

This is what happens when you're obsessed with FIFA World Cup.
Still no way of doing it via HDMI, but if your Sky box has scart you will be able to record/copy programmes from your planner, only in SD though.
Page 15 of the user manual shows you how to connect via scart and page 69 explains how to record from an external device.
