Thanks for posting the WM and cricket details as always Connor, there are a couple of interesting commentary appointments in the posts above.

On the cricket, Lizzy Ammon is a journalist for SPIN cricket magazine and The Sunday People, although is perhaps better known for her prolific tweeting (her Twitter handle is @legsidelizzy), while Dan Norcoss is a founder of and regular commentator on the unofficial, off-tube international cricket commentary service Test Match Sofa. He also has a more mainstream radio gig as the regular cricket expert on talkSPORT's Sports Bar. They are two well-qualified additions to the BBC country cricket commentary team in my opinion, although I'm slightly surprised by the latter given certain members of the Test Match Special team's opposition to Test Match Sofa.

On the speedway, I believe that's the first time Dave Rowe - a regular football reporter on talkSPORT and previously a commentator on Wolves (The Wolf) and Stoke (Signal) on commercial stations locally - has been involved in BBC WM's coverage of the sport. Dave's talkSPORT colleague and Cradley Heathens chairman Nigel Pearson regularly pops up on WM's speedway broadcasts, and like NP, DR regularly contributes speedway reports to the written press in the West Midlands. I see Dave has tweeted that he's just started commentating on Eurosport's coverage of Swedish speedway, so he's been keeping himself busy in the club football off-season.

He is only used when all of the others are not available but in the past they did use Wayne Roberts who covers the Coventry Bees for the BBC and when they ride against a side that WM cover he will be involved. This week with Rob Gurney at the cricket that day, Richard Wilford off for the next 4 weeks to cover Breakfast and Drive on WM, Mike at the other meeting and Mark Regan off that day they had no one else.

While I am on Rob Gurney he has done a lot more Cricket converge than of the last few years and Richard Wilford hasn't done as much. One other person who I would like to see WM more (Maybe when the football starts) is James Tzanoudakis I heard a lot of the Commentary he did on the tennis and thought he was very good maybe someone to watch.

I remember Dave doing commentary on Speedway before on WM one of which was used by Dudley (Now Cradley) Heathens to appeal because the Team manager of the side they where riding against went into the referee's box which is not allowed in Speedway.

Live at Wimbledon Radio, Wimbledon ladies singles final.
    Petra Kvitova V Eugenie Bouchard
Presented by Marcus Buckland with commentary from Philip Studd and Lucy Ahl for set 1, and Gigi Salmon and Wayne Ferreira set 2.

As far as I know, 5Live’s commentary team for the match was Russell Fuller for set 1, with Clair Balding for set 2, with co-commentrary throughout by Laura Robson, Judy Murray and Tracy Austin.
Have to say I prefer the less cluttered approach of Live at Wimbledon radio with only 2 commentators at a time.

Tennis: Wimbledon Men's Singles Final 2014
Novak Djokovic v Roger Federer - Katy Murrells

talkSPORT didn't carry updates on the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday 8th June as the second half of that race clashed with a pre-recorded My Sporting Life World Cup Special. Going by what Danny Kelly has said on the Weekend Sports Breakfast this weekend, it sounds as if Lisa O'Sullivan will be providing studio-based updates on most or all of this year's 21 stages of the Tour de France.

A couple of absentees from the press release with no sign at all of Mary Pierce and as far as I heard no commentary work from Patrick Moroutoglou, who I only heard once as part of a discussion segment. Gigi Salmon was a great addition to the team, great voice, great knowledge and one of the best I have heard at calling the rallies 'shot-by-shot'.

Friday 4th July (Independence Day) - ESPN Radio

Baseball Tonight presented by Marc Kestecher (first game) and Kevin Winter (second game) from Bristol, CT

    Major League Baseball: American League
Toronto Blue Jays @ Oakland Athletics (4pm ET) - Roxy Bernstein and Jim Bowden
Kansas City Royals @ Cleveland Indians (7pm ET) - Adam Amin and Chris Singleton

ESPN Radio also broadcast commentary on two MLB games this weekend, with their usual pairing of Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton calling the Royals @ Indians Saturday Game of the Week and the Tampa Bay Rays @ Detroit Tigers Sunday Night Baseball match-up. Kevin Winter hosted Baseball Tonight on both occasions.

Boog Sciambi wasn't involved in ESPN Radio's Independence Day coverage as he was commentating on the Rays @ Tigers game for ESPN TV that evening. Adam Amin and Roxy Bernstein seem to have become the main go-to guys in his absence on the radio side. What's notable about this is, while both are good announcers, neither call MLB games on a regular basis. Both mostly commentate on college football and basketball, with Amin covering NFL games for the Sports USA Radio network and Bernstein being involved in the Oakland Athletics radio network as a studio host and fill-in commentator. In previous years, ESPN Radio used to call upon a couple of the more well-known MLB radio announcers - John Rooney from the St. Louis Cardinals radio network and Dave Flemming from the San Francisco Giants radio network - for holiday double headers and other matches Sciambi wasn't available to cover. Flemming still does the odd NBA game for ESPN Radio but neither are often heard nationally these days.
