I'm personally gutted that he is leaving, George IMO is one of the most creative and funny presenters on air.
Moving him to weekends was such a waste.
And everyone seemed to have turned off when he was on mid-mornings......I'm not so sure??? I found this on the Guardian website from last year:

So he was actually the most popular weekday presenter on the station!

I agree.
It was different to the other shows and played a lot of different music - a refreshing change on what was a pretty generic and bland daytime lineup.
