One of Skyfall, The Perks of Being a Wallflower (which perhaps loses points for the ridiculous situation of kids from the 80s/early 90s not knowing Bowie's Heroes!) or Silver Linings Playbook.

    I've got a few -

Skyfall, The Perks of being a Wallflower and Silver Linings Playbook.

If I had to choose, I'd say Silver Linings Playbook

This is a movie I would like to see. But according to the hype it was going to have the same level of impact as The Matrix or Inception, but doesn't seem to have achieved that. Which doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a good movie of course.

I think the Matrix quote was an attempt to hype the film up, because it's indie sci-fi

Looper was an indie film, so didn't quite have the same reach as Inception and The Matrix (both distributed by Warners).

Also, Looper didn't have a big marketing push, a few ads in the Guardian was all I saw. (Though I already planned to see it because of good buzz on RT).

I think Looper may eventually become a cult success, but it probably won't ever reach Inception/Matrix levels....

I did really enjoy, and I'd watch before somebody spoils the (I though) fairly surprising ending...

The Dark Knight Rises by a million miles. May not have been as strong in some areas as TDK it provided the best cinema expereince for quite some time for and it was just so big in scale compared to many films I've seen. Just a true achievement IMO and a sensational end to one of the greatest modern trilogies.

Looper was also great but absolutley nothing like the trailer suggests, there is a whole storyline and character that the trailer never even hints at. Was not at all like I (and looking at other forums) many were expecting.

    The Amazing Spiderman.

IMO that was probably one of the worst films ever made ,predictable boring and no scary scenes whatsoever.

Probably 2012s worst film even worse than Piranha 3DD

Is that a bad thing? I quite liked the fact that every English language distributor had managed to hide (or play down) that element of the film. It made a change from films that give the entire plot line away in the trailer...
