Imagine no tv, no internet, no washing machine etc. It makes me faint to think about it.

i've often thought it would be quite nice to get away from it all and live in a caravan in my own woodland without any modcons.
lets face it, you could always nip to starbucks and partake of the free wifi.

Think how peaceful it could potentially be though.

Read and travel a lot more.

Saying that, I love electricity and all its perks.

The same way we are managing life without teleportation. If you've never had it you don't miss it.

There was a power cut in my area one time. After seven hours without electricity, I cracked and escaped to a friend's place.

    I. Just. Could. Not. Cope. :o

I've done it. It was rather fun up in the mountains with kangaroos and being woken up by the parrots and kookaburras.

The swearing from me using a poss tub would not aid peace.

But that is my point - we have it.

You mean if it gets taken away?

I'd hate it, to be honest.

Barring a push bike and shanks' pony, how would you travel without electricity?

Bike was my initial thought now that you mention it. Walking, too. I don't mind walking fairly long distances.

You'll be walking/cycling or riding a horse then.

thinking back to when i was a child in the seventies, we had no internet, phone, washing machine, freezer, central heating, and the tv was black and white and only had 3 channels but we managed quite well. We read a lot more books, played outside etc and our mum didn't work so she had more time to do the housework.

We also had frequent power cuts and just had go get the candles from the cupboard under the sink and sit in the dark til it came back on again.

By walking and people having to actually get off their backsides and surgically remove their ipads from their mitts.

Another thought - imagine having to use a flat iron I would have serious arm muscles.

    Walking/cycling. Camping too.

    Anyone else? No?

Guess I'm the only one that loves travelling around then :o

Thinking about it, the human body relies on electricity to work. So without it we'd all be dead anyway.
