New Macbook & battery performance.

Well is this a record, got a new/refurbished Macbook and the battery has been giving me outstanding performance, so far i have had it on for 7 hrs without external power source and it still has 1 hour 43 mins charge left. I heard it could last but christ i never figured it would last for around 8 hr 43 mins.

Is this unusual or the norm?

it's the new norm, now that Apple have moved to internal batteries. It allows them to be much larger and differently shaped. The "oh noes, can't change the battery!" cries of the other lot have basically been shut right up. The new Apple notebooks are amazing for battery life.

My 6 month old Compaq does 2-3 hrs.

Just been walking it round the house. Even though it is wireless g, and the router is a foot from a radiator it seems to work everywhere. Yes I know I shouldn't do that.

Brick walls in our house too. Bloody laptop still works in the garden.

    Notes on batteries:.....
