It's great to see the Snooker back 😀
    I have a rules question:
Player A is 22 points behind at the table with just the 6 colours left but snookered on the yellow. He misses it and the cue ball goes in the pocket. The referee does not call a miss and Player B puts the white in a position in the 'D' where he is snookered on the yellow but in position to pot the green easily as a extra yellow using the 'free ball' rule.

My question: is player B allowed to do this or is it NOT a freeball mean he can only play the yellow or make player A play the shot again?

So they've dropped where one player plays a shot and then his teammate plays the next. Glad that was changed because a bit ridiculous.

He can only play the free ball if the ref has declared it.

wasn't it this way in 2011 too? Pretty sure I read that on Twitter. Before that I thought this year was alternating shots too.

Because of that rule, Century breaks made in doubles matches are also added to the official list because it will be the same player who is at the table for the entire break.

Hong Kong 4-0 now on Brazil means Belgium and Scotland are the first two teams into the quarter-finals...

China A and India qualify from Group A, unlucky Malta.

I don't think it was. What year did this tournament start as it is now?

Northern Ireland have surprisingly lost the first three frames against Pakistan. Good news for Australia who've taken two off the Welsh to join them in the QF.

In fact Pakistan very nearly ousted Austrlia for the second spot but lost their last frame against Norther Ireland. Unlucky, terrific 4-1 victory by them.

England out in the group stages - anyone would think it's football...

yep, happy with that as it means my bet (Thailand) is still alive.

Would have been very annoyed if they won 4 of the 5 games, narrowly lost the other game 3-2 and still went out.

Not expecting anything though as they've got Wales in the Quarters.

Nailbiting drama at the conclusion of the first semi-final as Scotland scramble over the line 4-3 over India on the final pink. Poor old Mehta will be having nightmares about that barely medium distance pink off its spot for some time!

China B also win 4-3, defeating Wales to join Scotland in the final. Fine effort by Zhou and Yan.

indeed a fine effort from the two youngsters, both teenagers still and are certainly holding there own against the big boys.

They currently lead the final 3-0 as well!

Barry Hearn has said on Twitter that the World Cup will be every two years and he hopes for the Wuxi Classic to return next season. Presumably before becoming the World Cup again in Wuxi the following year.

I think next time the format should be pairs in every frame. The system of switching players in and out and handshakes after every fram is ridiculous and makes it difficult for players to get a rhythm going. The pairs frames were more interesting because you could see the interactions between the pairs more rather than just sitting a showing no emotion most of the time. 100% pairs would make it a far more entertaining tournament.
