Just spotted this is on the True Entertainment channel (freeview 61), nightly, double bill from 7.00 pm. Has anyone seen it yet? Are they showing the versions without the laughter track? That was how they used to show it on BBC 2, every other channel since has had the laughter track. It works much better without.

No way??!!!
Good spot, can't wait to see it again.
Is the picture quality OK, they normally show a cheap version on TE.?
Been waiting ages to see MASH again. Seems to be before BJ arrived.
S01E05 was shown today so only missed 4 episodes.
And Capt. BJ Hunnicutt didn't come in until season 4 when Trapper John got his discharge and went home then starred in his own spin off series set about 20 years after Korea.
I must admit as it has been years since I saw any of this show it's great to have it back. Only issue is my stupid DTR isn't showing it on the TV guide so I have had to try and trick the darn thing into recording the 7 pm to 8pm slot even though it is listing something else as being on.
I had hoped they might repeat the episodes at the weekend like they do with the Waltons, no joy but still with 20 episodes of season one to go who am I too complain.
And with 11 seasons totalling 256 episodes lets hope that True Entertainment put on the whole lot or at least the first 4 seasons that's only 97 episodes so will take only 10 weeks which will take us to the start of December.
The last time I was able to watch this was via Top Up TV when they use to broadcast Paramount Comedy an hour a day so I saw almost all of the first four seasons and really hope I can see them again. I think this early period of the show was the best of pure comedy while it got alot gritter as the show progressed.

It would appear that the version without the laugh track used by the BBC in the past is no longer available so this version is the only one that can be used seems a shame and rather odd that they can't use the tech to allow the DVD to have or omit the laugh track to make a new version available for countries that don't need to be told when to laugh if something is funny.
Perfect time as well as there always seems to be nothing on worth watching in the 7pm to 8pm gap. This will plug it nicely.
I wonder how many people are in the same boat and missing the good variety this channel offers? Being stuck at 61 on Freeview maybe isn't in the best place too!
Although it's listed on all the EPGs the channel still isn't physically listed in any printed/published tv magazine or guide - meaning at the moment they are potentially missing out on hundreds of thousands/millions of readers, and subsequently a few 10k extra viewers.
and mash ran for 11 seasons.
working it out each season of mash took place over around 4 months.
Well I have just dumped Sky and so I'm finding a lot of interesting little channels that I didn't know about before.
But then I didn't watch most of the channels I did pay for, so that's why I dumped it!
There is a whole lot of M*A*S*H Trivia like that, here:

Funny that I was only found it a couple of days ago then read this thread.
They only called a ceasfire, not an armistice. Technically the Korean war is still going on.........................
So far the only newspaper I've been able to find this listed in is the Daily Mail. And none of the listing mags in our newsagent seem to have it but then again it took ages for Movie Mix to appear so I assume the same thing here.
Not sure if it was this thread or another that said MASH was a last minute replacement or addition to True Entertainment. To be fair as this channel seemed to just have the Waltons, etc, I haven't really checked the on screen guide very often but it does seem to have expanded it's content.
I only hope MASH keeps going into season two etc. as it has been an age since this show has been on free to air TV. Season One should finish next Tuesday so here's hoping season two carries on from Wednesday.
I do remember it kicking off a bit back in the 80's as the BBC had broadcast a laughter track version of an episode, i think it may have been on points of view, im sure Barry took talked about it
Im sure the beeb explanation was that that was how the tapes were given too them from the american network.
Im sure someone older and with a better memory than me will remember this.:D

I certainly remember the outcry on Points Of View, but I can't remember what reason they gave.
They could at least have run this to the end of season 1 instead of stalling out at episode 22 or 24!
Will have to monitor this channel now to make sure I don't miss it if they decide to run the rest of season one and then move on to season two.
I had really hoped that they would at least have run this for a couple of months.
Ahhh, that's a real shame. I was hoping to watch the whole series.
I was expecting them to show at least the first 3 seasons, and then repeat them and then show season 4, repeat them and then show season 5, etc.
Anyone who saw last nights episodes may have seen a little ad from True Entertainment stating and I qoute 'MASH weeks nights at 7 pm etc.' so I think we should all play it safe and disregard any info that this show isn't going to be on until we see it isn't on. Set PVR's, sit down with your tea on your knee etc.
Sorry for the false intel folks based from TV guide on TV, on line guide that had before now been correct etc.
How do they hope to keep viewers if we can't get a correct listing for the content seems silly to me.
Anyway yippee M*A*S*H will continue, at least for the moment, 22 episodes down only 234 more to go. Really hope they cover upto Col. Potter joining the unit.
I'm glad I've seen this post.
MASH has come up on my EPG so hopefully they'll carry on showing it.
As I noted above the safe thing is to record the 7pm to 8 pm slot inrespective of what they say is on and then watch later if you can't sit down at 7pm and watch the linear transmission.
I will be doing this from now on and see how we go.
Season one will finish tonight with the double header and then we should get, fingers crossed, season two for the next 12 days which should finish about 30th Oct. which means if they continue broadcasting we should get to season 4 by Christmas in theory.
