People die. Death and taxes are the only certainty in life.

It has been a particularly bad year, so many favourite actors and actresses from my youth have died this year.
But as many of them were in their 90's and I am 76, I guess it is to be expected.:(

It does seem to have been a particularly bad year for high profile deaths, imho.

To be fair, the phrase "It's been a particularly bad year" gets pulled out every year on DS.

2009 was considered to be a pretty 'bad' one.

People die. Nobody avoids it. Doesn't matter a jot about fame or money.

I have to say there have been some sad ones in the latter half of this year though.

I suspect its cos if you have terminal cancer people are willing you on to have your "last Christmas" so many of them will keep battling on until the holidays hence the large amounts of deaths near/after Christmas

It's no different from any other time. Pick any year at random and you'll see loads of high-profile deaths. For example Steve McQueen, John Lennon, Peter Sellers, Mae West, Sartre, Alfred Hitchcock, Ian Curtis, Colonel Sanders and Jessie Owens all died in 1980.

    He didn't die in 2015... It's 2014.

According to the news James Avery died on Tues 31st Dec so it was 2013 not 2014.

    In America, apparently so.
