Shame is , I don't believe him when he says that the omission of Bravo and Pollard from the World Cup squad was not in response to the aborted tour of India. How can you go from Captain to not in the squad when there haven't been any games played !!

Don't think Clive believed himself either !!

Pollard is hideously over-rated when it comes to anything that isn't T20, and at International level he's just over-rated at that.

Dwayne Bravo though is a solid performer, so should be in.

That's a fair point about Pollard although I'd have him in the squad so that he can be permanent substitute fielder :)

He's worth 10+ runs in the field (at Least)

No one watching the ODI ?.......

Pretty straightforward.........England batted first and scored 100 runs below a competitive total and the Aussies are just rattling them off in their own time with very little pressure

One outstanding thing..........Morgan scored half England's runs, 121 off 136 balls. Maybe he'll come to the party now he's captain ?

been up watching it all night , this thread has been pretty dead so been chatting about it elsewhere

don't think we were 100 runs short but definitely 40-50

morgan played a cracking innings considering the situation and having little support

lets hope its a good sign as he was the one member of the top 7 who really needed runs

a score of 250 is just poor in an ODI game. 310 plus is a must or else the top teams of the world like Aus and India will be in for an easy ride.

"Morgan's appetite for Australian pitches and bowling is well known"

Well that is one positive if conditions in Australia suit Morgan as much as they do Ben Stokes.
As to the rest, is it to be like our last visit to these shores?

Former New Zealand cricket captain Chris Cairns had denied lying in a match-fixing libel action by saying he "never, ever cheated at cricket and nor would he ever contemplate such a thing"
The 44-year-old appeared before the Old Bailey to enter a not guilty plea to a charge of perjury and to perverting the course of justice by inducing fellow cricketer Lou Vincent to provide a false witness statement during a Skype call

Seems like the verdict will be due just as the World Cup starts. Could be a big distraction

Looking at Cricinfo, KP seems to be playing a blinder for the Melbourne Stars.
They are chasing a much needed high run rate, the win being near guaranteed after a couple of overs.

The cases of the three Pakistani cricketers imprisoned for " match fixing" is to be reviewed following doubts about the evidence given by the "Fake Sheik" in other cases. To me this was one of the most absurd cases ever brought. They were set up by a newspaper and did the most trivial things imaginable, such as bowling the odd no ball. They may well have been guilty of more serious matters in previous games but they were not on trial for that.

The Cairns case comes up in October this year, and I have no doubt he will be sent to prison if found guilty, our justice system is far harsher on those that lie in court that if you commit gbh

Gary Balance has broken his finger and will miss the Tri-Nations but should be OK for the World Cup
    No replacement called up

Freddie has joined the England squad in the nets to help motivate/coach them

Technology not working again in the SA/Windies game

Rossouw given out LBW, immediately reviewed and to the naked eye it was obvious that their was a deflection off the bat but Snicko showed otherwise !

The correct decision was made and the decision was overturned

Thrilling finish in Melbourne here. Aussies need 15 in 12 to win they got 4 wickets in hand

Aussies get the 15 in the 49th over to win

Seems like David Warner's been making friends again, getting in Rohit Sharma's face and demanding that he "speak English".
