What with all these cutbacks, closing bases, making military people redundant.
The Govt seem to be relying more and more on the TA.Defence on the cheap.
What next?.Call up papers in the post?.
So.Male and female.Would you do as you were told and show up for duty or say' no'?.

    I wouldn't because i'm too old.
I wouldn't mind being in Dad's Army though.

Conscription? When there aren't enough places for those who want to be in the military?

That's why they're pushing the TA/RAF(R)RN(R) so hard.
They want to have their cake and eat it.

No, I am too old and would be an annoying nuisance, even though I'm a good shot.

I think they'd have to build a lot of new prisons to hold all of the 'offenders'.

I'm too old now, but if I were young enough and received call-up papers to fight in a war that directly threatened my country I would definitely go.

They'd more likely send you to Guantanamo.

It would depend on the nature of the war and who our enemy was.

    Pretty much my view.

I'm leaning toward doing a runner to Ireland.

I don't think it'll ever come to that.As long as there's high unemployment there will always be no shortage of volunteers for the regular forces.
I just think all of this cost cutting and defence on the cheap is just taking the piss.
All the bullshit adverts(it's costing the taxpayers a fortune),roadshows, displays in the street etc are a real piss take.
They really must think people are mugs.
