Where are the best beaches near London? Sand and nice scenes, no rubbish scattered around.
The nearest ones would be either in Essex or Kent but I can't comment on those as I've never been to any.
The nearest beach I've been to London is in Sussex around the Eastbourne/Beachy Head area about 50 miles away. From what I remember it was nice but that was years ago so it might have changed.
As already said, Broadstairs has good beaches. Minnis Bay near Birchington was pleasant last time I went, also Camber Sands is lovely but takes a while to get there from London.
Sandy beaches.....eeeewww, that's a hard one guvnor. Yer stretching me 'ard there.
I can get yer Sandy Balls but i'm afraid Sandy Beaches yer gonna 'ave ter take the advice above.
That's not to say there aren't plenty of good beaches, which are not awarded. They may fail for a number of reasons, not directly related to the beach itself, e.g. accessibility requirements.

Not big but nice.
If you keep your eye open you may even see an adder and other wildlife.
Two little jewels in surrey.

Camber Sands is the best sandy beach, but as others have said, it's quite a distance from London.
