Paul O'Grady's 'mediocre ratings' according to DS

DS has confirmed Paul O'Grady's second series of Friday night live shows on ITV (even though Paul himself confirmed it before Christmas on the show). What really baffles me is that the article here claims that he had 'mediocre ratings':

...and then links to an article which states he had 4 million viewers for a particular show. From what I hear the viewing figures varied from 3-4.8 million throughout the series, which would place it as one of the most watched ITV shows in that timeslot in recent years?

I also thought that was rather bizarre...??

Yet attentional today, says he may be heading to Sky.

I thought that was old news and he decided on ITV, rather than Sky.
A new talk-show format produced by Cactus TV, sees the This Morning presenter, Fern Britton, venture out on her own to C4, hosting a new 20-part entertainment chat show that will run daily at 5pm, starting on Monday. The show steps into the shadow of the slot's predecessor, Paul O’Grady, who looks set to sign a deal with Sky.

He seems to flit around the broadcasters as he also works for Radio 2. However, Sky might be a retrograde step as two other hosts who quit a chat show in the same slot on Channel 4 for digital suffered a massive reverse in fortunes.

R&J did go to what is ostensibly a low budget 'repeat channel'.

Sky has a lot more clout than UKTV.

Incidentally, Jack Dee is recording a new panel show pilot tonight, and David Walliams is doing a different format next Wednesday. Sky 1 will commission the one that fares best.
