Orange Upgrade Deal

Orange phoned today to offer me an upgrade as I am a 'Highly valued customer' apparently. I am two months until the end of my contract.
To be honest I was thinking of leaving Orange as over the last 16 months I have had very poor data speeds using 3G.
But over the last week or so I have noticed a good improvement in speed in my local area so purely because of this, I couldn't really refuse when I heard the price!
I currently spend £35-£40 per month and get 1200 minutes, Unlimited texts and BIS. I don't ever use that amount of minutes.
I said I would prefer to save on the monthly cost rather than have an expensive phone and here is what she got for me:
400 Minutes
Unlimited texts
500Mb Data
30 free picture messages
Free HTC Wildfire.
£10.21 for 24 months.
I have to say I'm finding that deal a little hard to believe as it would be a big saving for me!! Phone should come tomorrow so we shall soon see! At least there is a 7 day cooling off if something is wrong.
They also said that I would need a new sim card with my upgrade but I don't know why? My existing one is only 16 months old?
