What an odd question. Are you a bit of a snob about the way people earn money? One of my friends works in the local shop, it's not on a corner, but it's open every day of the year and sells everything from newspapers to nappies. So yes, I do socialise with local shop workers.

By socialise, do you mean exchange pleasantries when you go in there, stop for a chat if you see them somewhere other than their shop, or have their phone number?
The threads on here are getting weirder and weirder.
In answer to the question, until 4 weeks ago my son worked in our corner shop so not only did I socialise with someone from the corner shop but I lived with someone
Iv been completly misunderstood here. I just meant does any one go on nights out with them
Any reason why you're talking about corner shop staff in particular? Have you made enquiries to the local corner shop for a bit of a get together but been ignored hence this thread asking if socialising was the norm?
Does your local shop have a special party night during the week which continues after closing hours into the town?
I'm baffled why someone would even ask this question.
someone on my facebook posted a long reply on a tesco voucher scam share about how going in the village tesco was so fantastically friendly because it was like going to the pub but without the drink.

Does not that depend if you are friends with each other but i still dont see the connection with a corner shop, i have a friend who works in a corner shop but not my local corner shop
I come from a small town and everyone chats in shops. I had moved away for years and when I went home I felt extremely uncomfortable with the fact that's the shop staff would chat away while people were waiting in the queue. It was only me that was uncomfortable because that's the way it's done there and I had got used to the "get your stuff and get out" way big towns and cities are.
If you meet them on a night out, of course pleasantries would be exchanged at the least.
I keep asking the old guy with the turban behind the counter out for a few drinks, but he keeps making excuses. I'll keep trying until he relents I guess.
