So say the Metro, who are citing a quote from Robin himself.

A back injury has forced him out of the line-up and he's being replaced by DWTS troupe member Trent Whiddon (really thought Ian might get the call-up)

Not a big fan of his choreography but he'll be missed.

From what I can find on him Trent was on the Australia DWTS and was a pro not in the troupe and was on burn the floor (surprise surprise) and sytycd Australia. maybe James should have kept quiet!

You're right, it was DWTS Australia he was on. Not very tall, either!

Aliona... Natalie... what is it with our pros injuring themselves so soon before the series begins?

He'd have most likely been lumbered with Alison Hammond anyway, so I doubt he'll have missed out on much. :p

Crumbs! I hope Robin's injury isn't too serious. I don't love his dancing or choreography, but he's always a very supportive partner for his celebs.

    The new guy's BTF bio:
Trent Whiddon (Dancer) is from Australia and has been dancing since the age of seven. A cast member of BURN THE FLOOR since 2002, including BTF on Broadway (dance captain) and company manager for BTF Busch Gardens. Trent was a choreographer for season three of So You Think You Can Dance Australia and a professional on Dancing With The Stars Australia. A Junior and Youth British Championship finalist and Australian professional 10 dance champion with partner Gordana Grandosek.

Very sorry to hear about Robin, he's one of the loveliest pros! I hope they find him an ITT role like they did Natalie.

However, every silver lining, and helloooooo Trent Whiddon!

What is wrong with these producers looking all over the world for replacements when we have one of the best pros ever here in the UK, the wonderful Ian Waite .

To see Ian dancing and training again with a celeb would be a great boost to the show.

Love Robin he will be sadly missed. It's turning into Strictly Burn the Floor. If James had kept his mouth shut.... Does anyone else find it odd that Ola is still there when James has all but been fired? Not much loyalty there

According to a "source" in the Sun, Robin's back problems have been going on for some time and have been caused by lifting heavier celebs like Lisa Riley. Maybe the BBC should rethink having Alison Hammond on the show if those rumours are true.

Poor Robin :( I've never been a fan of his choreography but he comes across as a really lovely guy who gets on well with everyone

VERY relieved that James Jordan hasn't replaced him

    Not at all ....

The petite blonde dancer admitted she wanted to quit the show too when she heard the news, but James persuaded her to stay.

She said: "I have massive respect for James. We went on the show together and I always thought we would leave it together. I was prepared not to return, but James said, 'Just do it, it will be a different experience for you.' "

And I doubt it very much that James would have taken Robin's place, regardless of what he has said on Twitter. Sadly, his jibes about Burn The Floor look to be coming true.

Can't say I'm disappointed as Robin ranks pretty low on my fave pros list, but back injuries are no laughing matter, especially for a dancer. I wish him a speedy and easy recovery. In the meantime, hello Mr Whiddon!

Oh what a shame for him, he seems lovely although not one of my favourites. Never heard of his replacement. I wonder if they would've asked James if he hadn't been so bitter like they did with Aliona last year.

Loyalty doesn't pay the mortgage. As a couple they've lost £30k in earnings this year, who could afford a £60k drop in income? Not many people.

Back on topic, I won't miss Robin a jot, for me he's one of the more limited dancers/choreographers.

Oh, I so agree. I'm sorry for Robin's injury and hope he recovers but I would have loved to have Ian back as a pro.

maybe Ian was approached first and asked and he declined for some reason.........

agree, it would be nice to have a 'home grown' pro back on the show

It's not only the fact that Ian is homegrown, although that's definitely part of the reason I wish he were back in the lineup. it's also that they don't have a particularly tall male pro in the lineup and they definitely need one, plus the fact that the pro lineup is too much Burn the Floor and doesn't have enough Ballroom/Latin specialists. I've got nothing against the new guy but I'd far rather have Ian back - assuming he was available and interested.
