  There are no S-Video inputs on VHS VCRs, but all S-VHS and D-VHS VCRs have S-Video inputs and outputs.The larger retailers tend not to bother selling these high-end VCRs, but you can find stockists on the Internet.I bought my Panasonic NV-HS930 S-VHS VCR this way.

  Comet and Argos sell S-vhs vcr's. :rolleyes:
  
  Panasonic ones feature s-video inputs at least. Don't know if this is what is wanted here or not though.

  SVHS VCRs cost around £100, but you can now get DVD recorders for around £170 (and some are even cheaper), so it's worth considering going down the DVD route.

  The problem with VCRs with S-Video inputs is finding something to feed them the S-Video signal.
  
  Virtually all Sky boxes don't, except for the odd Grundig, and only some Freeview boxes do.
  
  And very few TVs can do it either because we use SCARTs (by law!) and S Video is more common in the US and far east.
  
  So a converter box might be the only way of doing it.
