Last one 2012: Cloud Atlas (turned out to be the best one, as well... probably even the best one in recent years)

First one 2013: ...haven't watched anything yet :p

Finished 2012 with the Dark Knight Rises... My favourite of the last 12 months.

started 2013 with Martha Marcy May Marlene. Didn't love it, but that was one hell of a debut performance by Elizabeth Olsen. Talent is clearly not a genetic thing.

Last Movie of 2012: Forrest Gump. A timeless classic, and one of my all-time favourites.

First Movie of 2013: Welcome Aboard. A French gem. Not sure if it's an independent film, but I highly recommend it. Here's the trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S13kTDZk4i0

I watched it on Lovefilm Instant.

Dark Knight new years eve 5 of us sat with great expectation and all 5 of us thought it is over rated - it is OK a good action movie but everyone going on about the best film of the year (I dont think so)

then on New years Day we watched Ted for the second time in a week and we all Loved it something totally different from the Norm with the Teddy bear stealing the show completely

Watched the Amazing Spiderman on New Year's Eve and I actually thought it was better than Sam Raimi's version. Some nice humour thrown in and I thought Andrew Garfield was more convincing as Peter Parker. On New Year's day I watched Act of Valour. Some cracking set pieces, and you do get the feeling it's been well researched, but the acting was a tad wooden, almost like one of those Danielle Steele, straight to tv movies. With a couple of decent actors this could have been a superb film.

Wind Chill. Didn't expect much, absolutely loved it! It's compelling, the main characters made me actually care about them in the end, and very creepy.
Mind-screw central at the end too, I kept questioning what was happening, and every time I thought the film was over, another twist. Loved it!

    9/10 :)

    2012: The Hobbit.
    2013: Total Recall (2012).

Funnily enough both are balls to the wall with CGI action scence yet surprisingly Total Recall pulls it off better IMO.
