Fruit Cocktail in a tin - what's your favourite item please

The obvious choice of course is the half cherries with their bright red colouring but I think they are a bit braggadocio. So I have will to go for the grape simply because it looks more like a cooked gooseberry. I like that mystery it brings to the mix.

How about you?

I like the peaches best. I love fruit cocktail! Especially in a trifle.

I love the cherries. I'm going to get myself some of this this week. I haven't had any for ages.

It would have to be the cherry.

The peach, grape and pineapple always seem to merge into one washed out taste and whilst never being a fan of pears they seem particularly horrible in fruit cocktail. I think it's the overly grainy texture.

I've never seen the appeal of fruit cocktail and it's only purpose seems to be to ruin a trifle. When Mum realised I wouldn't eat fruit cocktail she started making trifle with other tinned fruit, it always went a lot quicker then the fruit cocktail version so I clearly wasn't alone.

I agree, can't think of many things out of a tin I would less like.

Gooseberry and peach bits..the cherry looks good but is always a let down :D Been a while since I had a tin..I would rather have a tin of peach halves and some tinned cream..do you still get tinned cream? Yum :D

Cherries and grapes are my favourite. But I only ever used to use a can of fruit cocktail when I made a trifle.

Ten times worse if it's in syrup as opposed to fruit juice.

Tinned fruit cocktail was the sort of thing we'd have on a Sunday at teatime. I've no idea why.

Nowadays, the only tinned fruit I'd consider eating is pineapple.
