My main problem is a - I am away from home for a week in digs on my own (working away). b - I love cooking

I thought sod it and the other day bought the smallest fresh turkey I could find.

So today I had Prawn Cocktail starter, followed by turkey, roast potatoes, bacon covered sausages, carrots and stuffing balls.

There is an individual xmas pud on the side but might leave that till tomorrow. Have de-boned the turkey and using the bones to make a stock for turkey soap tomorrow. Followed by Turkey curry in the evening. Followed by on Thursday with Paella rice, seafood and you guessed it turkey!

Starter: Smoked Salmon with pepper and lemon on home-made bread

    Main:
    Roast Turkey
    Forcemeat (lemon and sage)
    Bread Sauce
    Cranberry Sauce
    Apple Sauce
    Chipolatas
    Roast Potatoes
    Brussel Sprouts
    Cranberry, Chestnut and Sausagemeat Stuffing
    Gravy

    Dessert:
Christmas Pudding (made by me 3 months ago to let it mature)
    Brandy Sauce

I don't know why more people don't make their own Christmas Puddings.
We spent £12 pounds on ingredients and made 8 puddings working out at £1.50 each. Much cheaper than the supermarkets finest, even at twice the price (plus you get to eat the ingredients as you mix them)

    Aperitif
Crackers with cream cheese and garlic. Champagne with creme de cassis.
    Starter,

Salmon Mousse, toasted brown bread cut into triangles, duck pate, rocket salad in a garlic & mustard vinegrette. White wine
    Main
Home made Lasagne, fresh crusty baguettes and more of the rocket salad. Red Wine for most (water for me as I am allergic to red wine)
    Dessert
Home made raspberry roulade and home made tira misu both with fresh cream. White Wine

    Espresso coffee

    Digestif
    Various liquers or brandies

We were feeding 15 so it made sense to have something like lasagne which is easily made using minimal number of dishes...especially for me as I am dishwasher in chief!!:D

    1 slice of carrot
    2 mushrooms
    1 thin slice of chicken
    5 small roast potatoes.

I have a stomach bug, today of all days, and this was all I could manage. After living off Tesco Value the last three months I was so looking forward to it. BAH BLOODY HUMBUG :(

No roasties, gravy, roast parsnips or christmas pud for me, just veggies and turkey as I'm crippled with pain if I eat anything fatty at the moment.
