and Bianca loses her job .... again.
It's tiresome.
Exactly!
Agreed
Yes, she'sa binge drinker, often turning to drink when things don't go her way. She's not an alcoholic. It's just the same story recycled.
As for Bianca - bothe she and Kat went for the same job at R&R, presumably prepared to do it single-handed. So why would there be a problem with Kat remaining at R&R, and Bianca working at the Vic? There is no reason for them to share both jobs.
Poor, lazy writing. And lo and behold, when Kat loes her job at the Vic, so does Bianca.
ffs  how many times?! cant she either just get her benefits sorted or get a job and keep it? shes meant to get a stall next - please EE, let this work out and lets move on from this 'poverty' SL :yawn::yawn:
They should just do a Billy Jackson on Lauren & her Liver and get it over & done with.
I'd say it's definitely realistic. Alcohol isn't exactly a hard drug where constant abuse of it quickly leads to a bad turn. On the other hand, it'd be extremely unrealistic if she suddenly managed to sort her problems out without a drink. Therefore, her going back to The Vic and getting drunk is the most realistic approach.
Also, I'd say she is an alcoholic. She has a dependency on it and it's the first thing she turns to when a problem arises. Sure, she might not be a raging alcoholic in crisis, but I'd say she's an alcoholic in some way, shape or form.
Then please could the scriptwriters just develop this s/l (or even hint at some development) rather than just go round & round in circles.
It is being developed: she's a binge drinker that's developing a dependency on alcohol. Unfortunately, it's a slow burner. Just like you don't wake up cured of your addiction, you don't wake up a fully-fledged addict. It happens over a long period of time.
Exactly, you don't get into and then 'get cured' in just a month etc. it goes on for a long time, which people don't seem to understand. You moan if we get a Phil Mitchell crack recovery quickly, but moan if Lauren's is done properly at a good pace?
I believe LN said that Lauren's story will be wrapped up/dealt with in the coming months as her drinking finally comes to a head soon and she will at last get the help she needs.
Got the interview
Exactly. If the storyline was treated in the same way as Phil's crack addiction, there would be a lot of criticism.
I'm actually really intrigued by Lauren's alcoholism and it's one storyline that I'm glad is a slow burner.
EDIT: Ok my points have been covered already.
Agreed
(even though this storyline is agonisingly slow )
She's not going to suddenly decide she doesn't need alcohol anymore. In fact she hasn't even had a proper session with a therapist/counselor.
The reason everyone laughs at the "Phil on crack" storyline is because he became an addict then just seemed to stop cold turkey a week or so later. It's not believable.
 Copyright! Copyright I say
No I agree though, it's one of the only SL's I'm interested in atm
She really has had no support. People say Abi is ignored etc. (which is true) but at least she has Jay and a few others, so she hasn't come out as bad. Lauren really has no one there to listen to her or help her talk about her feelings/what's going on in her head. Her family is constantly fighting with each other, so you really have to feel for the both of them.
Bianca 'poverty' SL   Again more recycled scenes Bianca thinks things are looking good then she gets sacked. We will probably see one of her coat sleeves fall off which she will tie together with an elastic band, someone will feel sorry for her and give her a job which she then lose and it will be a never ending cycle.
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to either of these storylines either.
Max: they should both just tell him to clear off
Bianca: should use her common sense while working in order to actually keep a job
In the case of Bianca, it's not really that difficult!
The subtle scene where Lauren complimented Abi the other day was also quite nice, I was genuinely surprised by it.
About the clip in her hair? I liked that one as well. Abi is actually the one who could help Lauren the most through this, though TPTB will probably push Joey, I'm hoping Abi will play her part.
I agree, Abi would really shine in that role, I'm not really looking forward to:
Lauren: I can't help it
Joey: flarberedh!
Lauren: but...it's just so hard, you know?
Joey: arbehtghf rareew
Lauren: yes, I know it's hurting those around me...
