I don't mind the Nazirs, in fact I don't think the problem is the characters - it's the clueless producer and his awful storylines.

Put Gavin in every scene. He's the only reason why I am enjoying it right now.

Stop bringing in endless returnees and new characters.

    Yes!

Shame it looks like he's not going to be around for long, with the whole not actually being Gavin thing. :(

Well, the actor said he hopes he will be long-term, but it will depend on whether storylines are good!

I don't mind the Nazirs; but the stories given to them are so dire making them unlikable.

Give Zee an Islamic fundamentalist storyline to highlight how young British men can be brainwashed

    1) Axe the Nazirs. They're not working and are a black hole of dullness, dragging everything they touch into it.

    2) Get back to character-led storylines rather than plot contrivances. Eg. Address how Steve's depression is a direct result of Michelle's attitude to him; have Roy bask in real grief rather then having misery forced upon him in other ways; have more stories like Mary/Dev.

    3) Re-dress the balance of characters' screen time - less Carla and more Leanne; less Tracy and more Beth; less Liz and more Eileen.

    4) Be tighter on scripts - stop with the massive SORs and the astonishing lack of research in particular (Max storyline, Peter trial being the worst).

These would hugely improve the show IMO.

Fizz, Liz and Michelle are trialled as witches and get burnt on the stake.

Sean goes up the stairs of Number 6 and comes down in skeletal form, before collapsing.

Anna breaks up with Owen and moves in with Phelan.

agree with this, it was better with 2 or 3 episodes a week.

If it stays as it is then it should be axed, as it is dire.

You'd probably be better off dousing it in petrol & hoping for the best.

The producer and half the cast need to go.

The Nazir's first please, the are like dementors sucking the joy out of everything, quickly followed by Sean, Michelle, Fizz, Ches, his girlfriend, Kylie, the gurning Hayley, Faye, Owen, Anna, Izzy and Gary.

Then stop it with the personality transplants to fit the storylines, Tim's sudden onset illiteracy after conversing with Faye on the internet quite happily is a case in point.

Keep the characters true to themselves, have character driven stories and bring back the humour.

Tim told Faye his mate helped him write them - plus he can recognise some words

The show couldn't get by with the remaining 10-15 characters with five episodes a week to produce. :p

Get rid of half the cast, Corrie is the worst soap for clinging on to absolutely awful characters who are long past their sell-by-date. It's like it's barely processed since the 90s. Characters like Maria, Kirk, Gail, Sean, Liz, Michelle, Fizz, Roy, Kevin, Deidre, Dev and Sophie have all been on it for donkey years and give the show absolutely nothing but cringe-worthy, embarrassing 'acting'. Literally, not one of those aforementioned characters would be missed.

Chuck in the Nazirs, Beth, Sinead and Emily Bishop while you're at it.

Stop making most of the characters gormless brain dead morons would be a start. Why the PTB think we want to see character after character behaving like an imbecile is beyond me.
